27 - 02 Nov/Dec "Workshop in Madrid"

The workshop in Madrid was amazing. We got to see so much in only five days, and the work itself was interesting and fun.

The theme of the workshop was "Masking Madrid" which was about adding new layers to old, using and creating contrast and Sci-Fi.

The picture is showing the first building we visited, Matadero - an old slaughterhouse, where we had the first couple of lectures.

Norman Foster Foundation - no pictures were allowed, but I got one of the courtyard

Office in Matadero, looks so nice in the old industrial warehouse

Museum Caixa Forum, from inside and from the staircase that is very beautiful. Caixa Forum fascinated me very much because of the futeristic new extentions and the old facade, which they had preserved. It was a very big experience.

In the workshop we worked in teams, mixed with international students from Alicante, spanish students from Alicante and Madrid and students from Dubai. I wa great to mix up the teams and work like this. My group choose Caixa Forum as our bilding, and then we had to come up with a 2100 - futuristic extension to it.

First, we had to create our own future - we wanted it to be wierd and veri Sci-Fi, so we all worte a bunch of scenarios and why they happened, and then we drew thee random scenariosand then we had our future.

We decided, because Caixa Forum is the only building left in one of the parrelel universes, to make it into an inheritance from "the old world" and a station where you could futuristicly travel back and forth through the wormhole.

Wormhole "metro" map

Main travel-way through the wormhole = a capsule (2100 technology)

And here, finally we created a section og Caixa Forum, with the etension, which is made out of a "fabric" that grows itself, and has intelligence.
